GENERAL SANTOS CITY – Dionisia Pacquiao, the mother of boxer-turned-senator Manny Pacquiao, received a brand new van from her famous son on her 69th birthday.

Mrs. Pacquiao, fondly called Mommy D, admitted that she asked her son for a van, but she did not expect him to buy it.

The van arrived at her house in VSM Heights Subdivision Phase 1 in this city on Tuesday morning.

“Sinabi ko sa kaniya na ‘Nak, gusto ko sana ng van. ‘Nak, last na ‘yan, ‘Nak. Hindi ko in-expect na bibigay niya kasi sabi ni Manny, 'Okay naman 'yang sasakyan mo, Ma,” she said.

Mrs. Pacquiao said she could not ask for anything more. At 69, the "Pacmom" said she is healthy and happy with live-in partner Michael Yamson, whom she has been with for four years and five months.

“Nagpasalamat ako sa Panginoon kasi wala na akong sakit, pinagaling na ako. Nalagpasan ko na 'yong mga sakit-sakit,” she said.

In an interview in Kiamba, Sarangani, Pacquiao said his mother deserves nothing but the best.

“Deserve ng Mama ko ‘yon, kaya binigyan, niregaluhan ko siya ng bagong sasakyan. I am sure happy siya. Ma, mahal na mahal ka namin. Happy birthday, Ma. We love you!” Pacquiao said.

Mrs. Pacquiao will have a simple birthday party on Tuesday night at the Mt. Sabrina Resort in General Santos City. She will be wearing a red gown designed just for her and will be escorted by her 42-year-old boyfriend.

Also expected to be present at her party are the Pacquiao siblings and her grandchildren.

The boxing champ, however, will not be able to attend her party because of prior commitments at the Senate.
