'Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral' to hit cinemas on September 5

MANILA -- The much-awaited historical biopic "Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral," with Paulo Avelino in the title role, finally has a playdate.

According to an announcement on the film's official Facebook page on Wednesday, the highly anticipated follow up to the box office hit "Heneral Luna," will open in theaters on September 5.

It also released a new teaser video and a teaser poster.

In the new teaser, the audience is given a chance to get to know Gregorio del Pilar through the eyes of different characters, including Apolinario Mabini and Emilio Aguinaldo with Epy Quizon and Mon Confiado reprising their roles they portrayed in "Heneral Luna."

The movie will also introduced new faces like Remedios Nable Jose, one of the known girlfriends of del Pilar. She will be played by Gwen Zamora.

The movie also stars Carlo Aquino, Arron Villaflor, Alvin Anson, and Empress Schuck among many others.

The film is directed by Jerrold Tarog and produced by TBA Studios, Artikulo Uno Productions, and Globe Studios.
