MANILA – Luis Manzano was put in the spotlight on Sunday when John Lloyd Cruz was promoting his movie “Just the 3 of Us,” which also stars Jennylyn Mercado.

Mercado was Manzano’s former girlfriend.

Talking about the film on “ASAP,” Cruz said: “Sobrang sarap, sobrang enjoy ka-trabaho nung aking bagong leading lady. Gusto mo bang malaman kung sino ang kasama ko dito?”

Toni Gonzaga then turned to Manzano and said: “Sino ba Luis?”

To which, Manzano answered: “Award-winning tandem na 'yan. Si direk Cathy Garcia Molina and si Ms. Jennylyn Mercado.”

Cruz later performed “Getting to Know Each Other,” the official theme song of “Just the 3 of Us.”

A pre-recorded video of Mercado was also shown.

“Para sa akin kasi, it’s a dream come true na makatrabaho ko ang isang John Lloyd Cruz. Thankful din ako dahil binigyan nila ako ng opportunity na makapagtrabaho dito sa Star Cinema. Noong nakilala ko si John Lloyd, masaya ako [to know na] napakabait niyang tao. Kasi nung una, parang seryoso siya. Na-witness ko 'yung funny side niya, 'yung maloko side niya,” she said.

“Just the 3 of Us” tells of an unlikely love story between two strangers Uno (Cruz) and CJ (Mercado) and how one night changes their lives forever.

The film also features Joel Torre, Maria Isabel Lopez, Ketchup Eusebio, Joem Bascon, Yana Asistio, Victor Silayan, and Fifth Solomon.

The movie will open in theaters nationwide on May 4.
