MANILA -- Veteran character actor and incumbent Bulacan Vice-Governor Daniel Fernando is back on TV via Dreamscape's new series "Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin."

In the series, Fernando will play a money-driven father to Gerald Anderson's character.

Fernando said he had to refuse taking roles for a while because he needed to fix his schedule first.

"Napakabait naman po ng ABS-CBN kasi supportado nila ako dahil talagang hinihingi nila 'yong schedule," he said. "Naba-budget naman natin 'yong ating schedule."

When asked if can could juggle his political and showbiz careers, Fernando said: "May sinumpaan tayong tungkulin doon at hindi ko naman pinababayaan 'yon. Balance lang po."

Directed by Dan Villegas and Onat Diaz, "Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin" will air starting May 1 after "it's Showtime."
