MANILA - Actor and incumbent Bulacan Vice Governor Daniel Fernando is leading against fellow actor Phillip Salvador, his closest rival in the race for vice governor.

Based on the partial and unofficial Commission on Elections (Comelec) Transparency Server, as of 9:49 p.m., May 9, 2016, Fernando was leading with 718,381 votes while Salvador had 263,240 votes.

Fernando, on the other hand, started as a Provincial Board Member before winning as vice governor in 2010.

Meanwhile, Fernando's long-time ally, incumbent Governor Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado, was also leading the gubernatorial race with 587,620 votes, followed by former governor Josefina Dela Cruz with 341,293 votes.
