MANILA -- It has been more than two years since he last appeared in a Star Cinema project, and Derek Ramsay is more than thrilled that his comeback movie for the ABS-CBN film outfit is now in full swing.

Add this to the fact that “Kasal” is his reunion project with Bea Alonzo after the 2010 series “Magkaribal,” and the 2007 hit film “One More Chance.”

“It’s amazing to work with Bea again. She’s my one of my favorite actresses, definitely one of the most talented out there. It’s really nice to be paired with her,” he said.

Ramsay said they were able to catch up on those years that they have not seen each other when they filmed “Kasal” in Cebu for a week.

For those wondering how the actor was able to return to the Kapamilya network, Ramsay had a simple explanation.

“I think it was just time. Time heals everything. I had my hurt, they had their hurt. For me, it was all one big misunderstanding that was caused by the respect and the love that we have for each other kaya nagkatampuhan,” he said.

“When we sat down all together, Sir Gabby (Lopez), Tita Cory (Vidanes), we just voiced out what it was that happened. It was cleared out. We just gave the respect that we have for each other there and we moved on.”

Although he wished it did not take six years before they’ve had the chance to talk, Ramsay said he is happy that their meeting took place.

“Now, it feels like there’s a big thorn pulled out of my heart,” he said.

After “Kasal,” Ramsay shared that he will doing another movie, this time with Maja Salvador and Arci Munoz.

“May susunod na daw na pelikula na with Maja and Arci. I’ve worked with both of them before, si Maja briefly lang and with Arci naman, back in another network. Nagse-scheduling na kami for that other movie,” he said.

Meanwhile, since his comeback film is about a wedding, Ramsay was also asked about his plans of settling down.

“Every time you’re in a relationship, you should be looking at that ‘di ba? That’s why you stay committed to that person. This one, we definitely have that in thought. We are going strong. We haven’t gotten into the particular, on what we are going to do about it but it’s definitely in our head and it’s part of our plan,” he said.

Explaining that they prefer to take things slow and easy, the actor said: “We are enjoying each other’s company now.”
