MANILA - Japanese rock band Uchusentai Noiz and American balladeer Ryan Gallagher are the latest contestants to advance to the next round of "I Love OPM."

On Sunday, Uchusentai Noiz performed Rivermaya's "Liwanag sa Dilim," while Gallagher won the hearts of the judges with his rendition of the Gary Valenciano hit "Sana Maulit Muli."

"Makapanindig balahibo. Narinig ko 'yung, parang feeling ko Il Divo umawit ng 'Sana Maulit Muli,'" Toni Gonzaga told Gallagher.

She also praised Uchusentai Noiz for their energetic performance. "Kumbaga sa ulam, kumpletos rekados. Nandoon lahat 'yung performance level, 'yung energy na ibinigay niyo sa amin. Medyo hindi lang namin naintindihan 'yung ibang Tagalog words."

Meanwhile, Martin Nievera also praised the band.

"Kayo ang liwanag sa dilim. Because their performance, their energy, is very very good and in this competition, we really need the diction to be just a little better," he said.

"It's a beautiful song, and you sang it beautifully. And it's very hard for a man to say that my hair was standing when you sang," Nievera also told Gallagher.

Uchusentai Noiz and Gallagher moved on to the next round after getting an average of 89 points and 93 points, respectively.

Hosted by Anne Curtis and Eric Nicolas, "I Love OPM" airs Saturdays after "Maalaala Mo Kaya" and Sundays after "Rated K."
