Over the past week, there's been some curious talk about what KZ Tandingan will perform for her first appearance on the Chinese reality show, "Singer 2018," where she is looking to defeat British pop star Jessie J.

Fans found out this Friday that she prepared a jazzed-up rendition of "Rolling in the Deep." The "X-Factor Philippines" winner gave her cover a more eclectic twist as she paid tribute to Adele, as well as to her Filipino roots, squeezing in a Tagalog rap part near the end.

Time will tell if her version (below) will endear her to Chinese viewers, as she needs votes to beat Jessie J, who has been dominating the contest.

She finished top in the first three episodes, and second during the last.

The format for "Singer 2018" is rather simple. It allows pop stars to compete with each other ala-"X-Factor," except the that contestants are already famous.

Jessie J won the first three episodes, that also saw two singers, who got the least number of votes, eliminated.

In a teaser for Friday's episode, Jessie J acknowledged Tandingan, dubbed as the Philippines' "Soul Supreme," as a threat to her win streak, saying that she has a "big voice."

"Singer 2018" is produced by Hunan Television. Full episodes of the show are uploaded on YouTube after airing.
