MANILA – “It’s over.” This was how Erich Gonzales briefly described the status of her relationship with Daniel Matsunaga.

In an interview on Thursday, Gonzales finally broke her silence about their breakup, stressing that there is no truth to some claims made by Matsunaga on social media.

“We are not together anymore. It’s over. To be honest po, ayaw ko po sanang mag-detalye. I just want to move on. Hindi po kami nag-uusap. It’s not true that we are talking. Hindi po kami magkaibigan,” she said.

The actress, however, echoed Matsunaga’s statement that there was no third party involved.

Gonzalez said she is drawing her strength from her family, friends and even supporters. “Thankful po ako dahil 'yung loyalty nila laging nandiyan. Siyempre po 'yung Diyos, siya naman po ang nakakaalam ng lahat,” she said.

Right now, Gonzales just wants to help herself move on from their failed relationship.

“I think I just have to accept na may mga bagay po talagang we cannot control. Life goes on,” she said. “I deleted the photos. I unfollowed them. I just want to help myself.”

On what she has learned from their relationship, Gonzales said: “Siguro kapag nagmahal ka, kailangan magtira ka para sa sarili mo.”

After everything that has happened, Gonzales said she is not yet open to being friends with Matsunaga again.

“Sa nararamdaman ko po ngayon, hindi po. I don’t want to say anything more. I just want to move on,” she said.
