MANILA – Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres became emotional as she made her “ASAP” comeback on Sunday.

Torres is one of the original hosts of the ABS-CBN variety show along with Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Pops Fernandez and Ariel Rivera, and was once dubbed as the Philippines’ “Dancing Queen.”

Following a nine-minute dance number, Torres cried after seeing the pre-recorded video messages of the people she worked with back when she was still starting in the Philippines.

“Maraming salamat po. Masaya ako dito kasi this is my second home, in ‘ASAP.’ I owe you guys so much. Everything started with me here. I learned everything here. I will forever be thankful. I will forever love you,” she said.

Talking to the Filipino people, Torres added: “Mahal ko kayo. Lagi kayong nasa puso at isipan ko. I know ang tagal na. I should have been here before. But finally I am here. Sana ito na ang simula.”

For her production number, Torres shared the stage with Valeciano as they danced to “Hataw Na.” She also proved she still has the moves as she sizzled in Ariana Grande’s “Side to Side,” among others.
