MANILA - TV host Luis Manzano was quick to deny rumors that the upcoming Darna movie has something to do with his ongoing relationship problems with his girlfriend, actress Angel Locsin.

In an interview with the entertainment website Pep, Manzano reacted to rumors that Locsin has accepted the project even if she has yet to recover after her surgery.

Last year, Locsin turned down the Darna role offered to her after developing a disc bulge in her spine.

"Honestly, walang kinalaman ang Darna. Nagulat ako sa Darna issue na 'yan," Manzano told Pep.

"There are so many speculations. Ibigay na natin sa kanila 'yung mga gusto nilang isipin," he added. "At the same time, ibigay na nila sa amin 'yung natitira para sa amin."

When asked to respond to Locsin's statement in her recent interview on "Tonight with Boy Abunda" where she expressed optimism that they could still work things out, Manzano said: "Oo naman. May mga kailangan lang pagdaanan talaga ang mga tao, especially 'yung mga pinagdaanan namin."

"May mga kailangan pang ayusin din naman sa aming dalawa."

Despite this, Manzano said he and Locsin continue to be in touch. "Oo naman. In fact, magka-text kami kahapon. Okay kami."

He went on to thank his and Locsin's fans for their words of encouragement and support.

"Thank you very much sa mga nagpu-post sa social media namin. Thank you very much for the support sa amin as individuals as Kulit and Kite. Thank you very much sa pagmamahal," he said.
