MANILA -- Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres on Friday opened up about two of her much publicized break-ups with former flames, Filipino actor Aga Muhlach and American singer Marc Anthony.

Torres was with Muhlach during her showbiz stint in the Philippines.

The beauty queen visited the country in 1994 for the Miss Universe competition in Manila and decided to pursue a career here.

In an interview with ANC's "Headstart," Torres recalled being hurt over her breakup with the actor, with whom she starred in the classic film "Basta't Kasama Kita."

"It wasn’t a terrible breakup, but I do remember being hurt and wanting to go, wanting to pack my stuff, but you know it was the way it was supposed to be," she said.

Torres admitted not being in touch with the actor, adding that their "paths moved in different ways," but said that they will "always have great, great memories."

Muhlach is now married to Charlene Gonzales, the Philippines' bet for the 1994 Miss Universe pageant.

Torres returned to Puerto Rico in 1998 to continue her singing career and released her only studio album, "Antifaz." Two years later, she wed Anthony. They had two children together, but divorced in 2004.

Torres went on to write a book entitled "Married to Me: How Committing to Myself Led to Triumph After Divorce" with her sister after her split with the Anthony.

She said in the interview that it is "normal and natural" for a person going through a breakup to be furious or go berserk, but that was not how she dealt with her situation.

"To me, thankfully, the kids were there because I just had to focus on what they will see later on, what they will learn. I just wanted to be that kind of person so that they can continue and admire. I didn’t want to be hateful, not me," she said.

More than a decade after their divorce, Torres said she and Anthony are "absolutely" in good terms "especially for the kids."
