Wil Dasovich's year is off to the greatest start possible, as he underwent a successful surgery to treat his cancer.

The vlogger and former "Pinoy Big Brother" housemate shared the news on Facebook on Friday, saying that he is "alive and well" following the operation that took a week.

He had previously described the procedure as the "final step" to becoming "cancer-free."

He said that doctors had to "cut out a piece of [his] large intestine wherever the cancer is" and attach it back together.

Dasovich first revealed that he had cancer back in August.

The latest surgery he had followed 3 months of chemotheraphy, which was terminated on its ninth cycle early this month.

He explained that battling the condition changed his perspective on life. "It's not the years in your life, but it's the life in your years that count," he said in one of his vlogs.
