MANILA - "Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes", the revenge comedy starring Judy Ann Santos and Angelica Panganiban, has been earning raves since its nationwide release on Wednesday.

On Twitter, critics and viewers alike have poured praises on the Star Cinema co-production directed by Jun Robles Lana ("Die Beautiful") -- echoing an earlier "Grade A" given by the Cinema Evaluation Board.

"Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes" centers on two scorned wives who connive against their respective husbands (Joross Gamboa, JC de Vera), who they discover to be having an affair with each other.

The widely circulated trailer of the film shows the titular women as spiteful and bent on revenge, but director Lana has emphasized that "Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes" puts at the forefront "love, compassion, understanding, and an attempt to embrace diversity in all its forms."
