MANILA – Angel Locsin revealed that she is set to undergo another medical procedure in February to treat a bulging disc in her spine, which has forced her to pull out of a planned Star Cinema adaptation of the iconic Filipina superheroine Darna.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Locsin said she is currently recovering from the first treatment that she had in Singapore back in December but her doctors told her that she needs to undergo another one next month.

''It's an innovative treatment na dalawang doktor lang ang gumagawa sa buong mundo. It's laser na may sampung injections sa spine, nerves and sa disc ko. Ang sama daw talaga ng pagka-damage. Sabi nga ni doc, baka daw hindi ko magamit yung legs ko kung hindi ko pa pinunta doon. Kaya lang may nakita kasing bago so sa February lilipad ulit. Gagawin ulit yung same procedure,'' she said.

Asked if there are limitations as to what she can or cannot do because of her condition, Locsin simply said: ''Maraming mga bawal. Kailangan alagaan ko lang ang sarili ko. Kailangan yung therapy and kailangan yung medications.''

With her health as her top priority, Locsin said she always sees to it that she follows her doctors' orders.

''Kailangan ko tiyagain. Gusto ko rin naman [magpagaling], not for anything else. Gusto ko lang maging healthy para sa future,” she said.

While she is flattered that many people still want her to play Darna, Locsin said: ''Right now kasi, it's unfair sa kung sino man ang napili nila maging Darna kung magsasalita pa rin ako. Masakit sa akin na hindi ko na gagawin but I think naman yung decision ko is for the better.''

Currently, Locsin is busy promoting her movie "Everything About Her" which will be released in theaters nationwide on January 27.

She is also one of the judges in the fifth season of "Pilipinas Got Talent."
