MANILA - (UPDATE) The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas is investigating alleged P100 bills that are missing face designs on one side, Governor Nestor Espenilla Jr. said Wednesday.

A woman posted photos of the bills on Facebook, which she said were withdrawn from a Bank of the Philippine Islands ATM in Eastwood City.

"Right now we're investigating such claims which appear to be isolated. You may advise holders of such bills to coordinate with their bank right away to facilitate proper investigation," Espenilla said in a statement.

Earla Anne Yehey, the woman who posted the photos, told ABS-CBN News she would show the bills to BPI representatives on Thursday. She said 4 bills were "faceless."

BPI earlier said it would coordinate with the BSP as the bills might be from the central bank.
