MANILA – Xerox Corp.’s Philippine unit said Friday it was hiring 800 people within the year to meet demand for outsourced services.

The job openings are in customer care, finance and accounting, transaction processing and information technology, said Xerox Philippines country director Jojo Gajitos.

“We’re very satisfied with the performance of our existing operations in Metro Manila and Cebu and because of that, we wanted to further grow the business that we have in the Philippines,” Gajitos told ANC’s “Market Edge with Cathy Yang.”

The job openings will be split evenly between the two urban centers, he said.

Gajitos said the country’s outsourcing industry would continue to grow. He said President Rodrigo Duterte’s fiery rhetoric against the United States has not affected investor sentiment.

“We haven’t really seen that as a risk at this point. I’ve been with clients almost the whole week none have mentioned that as a concern,” he said.
