MANILA - Megaworld Corp. on Thursday said it would open a P2.2 billion hotel on Boracay Island by the end of the year as its expands its hotel business outside Metro Manila.

The 530-room Savoy Hotel Boracay will rise in Megaworld's 150-hectare development in the eastern part of the popular toruist island, the company told the stock exchange.

Megaworld will open Savoy brand hotels in Pasay in 2017 and Cebu in 2018. The company is spending P5 billion for the three hotels, said Megaworld senior vice president Jericho Go.
