MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte will be visiting Israel for a 3-day official visit beginning Sept. 2 accompanied by a large business delegation, Israel Ambassador to the Philippines Effie Ben Matityau said Friday.

Duterte is expected to meet with the Israeli Prime Minister where business contracts are expected to be signed, Matityau said.

Both countries are also preparing a list of agreements in the fields of defense, technology, and food as well as a labor agreement that would ensure that Fililipino workers in Israel are paid fairly and are not abused, he said.

Duterte is also expected to visit the Holy Land, Matityau said, adding that the his apology after comparing the war on drugs to that of Adolf Hitler killing the Jews during the Second World War, has cleared the air.

The President also recently drew flak after his "who is this stupid God?" remark.
