MANILA - The Department of Finance is investigating the circumstances behind a P6.4-billion shipment of "shabu" from China that placed the spotlight on the Bureau of Customs, Secretary Carlos Dominguez said Wednesday.

Dominguez also denied saying that President Rodrigo Duterte expressed full confidence in Faeldon, as stated in a statement from Malacanang.

The finance chief said he could only confirm that Duterte met with Faeldon on Tuesday. Dominguez, who was in the same meeting, declined to say what was discussed.

A congressional hearing on Tuesday revealed that the "shabu" was held in a Valenzuela City warehouse and authorities planned to use the drugs to entrap the consignee.
