MANILA - Shoppers can now get instant rebates and rewards from their grocery shopping through mobile app Snapcart, which was launched in the country recently.

Shoppers can get rebates by taking a picture of their grocery receipts and uploading them into Snapcart. As much as 20 percent in rebates are available for more than 200 items.

"It is also a great way for brands to understand their shoppers in real time and engage with them in a targeted manner, by leveraging our proprietary technology and analytics," said Mayeth Condicion, Snapcart co-founder and country manager.

First launched in Indonesia, the app is now available for Android users in the Philippines and an iOS version is expected to be released in August.
