MANILA - Jollibee Foods Corp on Monday apologized to the public after a video showing one of its mascots in a sexy dance number got 1 million views online.
The country's largest fast food operator said the video was taken during an "internal" event and only "wholesome" performances were allowed inside its stores, public relations director Arline Adeva said in a statement.
"Jollibee would like to apologize to the public, especially to our young fans, who may have been disappointed or offended with the said dance video of our mascot that was uploaded in social media," Adeva said.
The video showed a Jollibee mascot gyrating to Bruno Mars' "Versace on the Floor," a song about kissing and getting naked.
"We would like to clarify that the performance is a deviation from the standard mascot and party guidelines -- be it for Jollibee Kids Party or internal events," she said.
