Commuters in Southeast Asia, including the Philippines, faced inconvenience on Tuesday night after ride-hailing app Grab was hit by technical glitches.

Many of its customers took to social media after failing to book rides because the mobile app is inaccessible.

A screenshot of the app sent to ABS-CBN News by a Grab user shows the following message: "SORRY :-( Looks like we weren't able to connect to our server. Please try again in a few minutes."

Grab Philippines, through its Twitter account, apologized to its customers for the inconvenience, saying it has "received a report from our Regional Tech team regarding with the system maintenance" and that the app "will be back online soon."
