NEW DELHI - President Rodrigo Duterte is bringing home at least $1.25 billion in investment pledges from India, the Philippines' trade chief said on Thursday.

In a briefing in New Delhi, Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon Lopez said the planned investments are expected to generate 105,000 jobs in various fields.

Lopez said Indian conglomerates expressed their interest in entering or expanding their operations in the Philippine market, and were looking to invest in the pharmaceuticals, IT, renewable energy, and infrastructure sectors.
