Baby-proofing the outdoors with Safety 1st

Going out for walks with Nyke becomes more enjoyable thanks to the Safety 1st Compa’city stroller. Shamcey highly recommends it for being easy to maneuver, and for having great adjustable handles.

MANILA -- New moms, take a deep breath. You’ve all heard of what to do to “baby-proof” your home to make it safe for baby. Now, surely you’re also excited to take them out on family vacations so you can create lots more beautiful memories.

But travelling with a baby seems quite daunting, especially since places outside your home may not be as “baby-proof. Safety 1st, the leading partner of families in home and outdoor safety, makes things a little less overwhelming when travelling with your baby or toddler.

Shamcey Supsup-Lee, a new mom herself, shares some of her own learnings as she prepares being on-the-go along with baby Nyke.

* Bring a stroller

I was told that even on trips, I should stick to Nyke’s normal nap schedule. So, it’s best to bring a stroller so my husband Lloyd and I can coordinate going out for a walk around the area while she naps. I really recommend investing in the Safety 1st Compa’city stroller; it’s very comfortable and easy to maneuver because the handles are adjustable plus it’s built with a big basket good for carrying stuff while shopping and taking long walks. It also makes for a smooth and safe ride when travelling with a baby.

Shamcey and husband Lloyd love taking baby Nyke out to create lots of beautiful memories with Safety 1st Gentle Lace stroller makes travelling with their little one more safe and fun.

* Invest in a good car seat

When we’re travelling by car, I want to make sure Nyke is safe and comfortable during the ride. And when we’re out of town, the roads aren’t always smooth and paved. We want to avoid small bumps and bruises, so it’s really recommended that infants should be safely buckled in a rear-facing car seat. As Nyke gets bigger, then we can use a forward-facing car seat. That’s why I really chose Maxi Cosi because I researched that it’s the No. 1 car seat in Europe. I chose the Maxi Cosi Cabrio Fix Car Seat because it is lightweight, transferring from car to stroller is never a problem. It also has padded car seat for maximum comfort and a side protection system for safety.

* Use a carrier.

Of course even if we’re with our baby, we still want to enjoy our vacation as a family. I think having a carrier is really helpful, if you want to give pushing a stroller a rest, because you get to move freely and enjoy your activities while still having your baby close to you. The Safety 1st Mimoso carrier is the perfect item to have, because it’s very cozy for both you and your baby. It has padded straps for the parent, and an easy wraparound seat for the baby.

* Keep stuff in a backseat organizer.

Of course we want to keep choking hazards away from Nyke at all times. Having a Safety 1st backseat organizer in the car makes it easier for me to keep away all our baby products and toys.

When discovering life with baby, safety always comes first. All parents do their best to ensure this and the perfect start is choosing brands that put safety as their top priority. Just take it from new mom, Shamcey.
