Continuing its bid to take the lead in the cameraphone industry, Huawei has launched a new, improved mid-priced model intended to capture the interest of photography afficionados.

The China-based technology company recently launched the Huawei Nova 3i, the successor of last year's popular Nova 2i.

"We need to move fast, run faster, to make consumers get something different," Huawei Consumer Business president Jim Xu said.

The 6.3-inch smartphone features four cameras with improved artificial intelligence (AI) that ensure high-clarity pictures and bokeh effects.

Its 24-megapixel (MP) and 2MP front cameras are partnered with 16MP and 2MP rear cameras to produce natural photographs and videos.

The advanced algorithm of the phone's AI-engineered cameras can automatically self-adjust its settings depending on the environment. This process provides an optimized shooting result whether the user takes a portrait, landscape, or food photo.

With the help of enhanced cameras, users can also turn themselves into adorable animations using the AI-powered 3D Qmojis. The phone will recognize the user's facial expressions, movements, and voice to create a fun and personalized Qmoji GIFs or videos.

The smartphone is also packed with brand-new Kirin 710 chipset and graphics processing unit (GPU) Turbo technology that give a seamless and immersive phone experience.

The smartphone is as well equipped with the latest Android 8.1 operating system.

Users who tend to install more applications and take copious photos don't need to worry about running out of storage as the smartphone is loaded with 128-gigabytes (GB) storage space.

From its launch date last July 28, Huawei is bundling the Huawei Nova 3i with a Bluetooth speaker plus a ring holder from July 28 to August 31. The Nova 3i is available in Iris Purple and Black, and is priced at PhP15,990 only. Click on this link for more information.

RELIABILITY

Huawei recently showed the media its research and development facility in Shanghai, China.

This is where all Huawei smartphones were tested to guarantee their durability before they go to the market.

Tests conducted in the center include mechanical stress tests as well as bend tests.

The Huawei test facility also checks the quality of their smartphones' buttons by repeatedly prodding them for one million times.

Last year, Huawei spent USD14 billion on research and development, one of the largest budget allocations for smartphone development in the industry.

More information about the new Huawei Nova 3i can be found on the Huawei website, Facebook, and Instagram.
