Fifty-two years after it debuted on the comic book "Fantastic Four Vol.1", the story of Marvel's "Black Panther" is finally hitting the big screen this February 14.

Starring Chadwick Boseman, who plays the hero T'Challa or Black Panther, the movie features a diverse, talented cast including Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, and Daniel Kaluuya, among others.

"Black Panther" is set in the fictional African nation Wakanda, whose future lies in the hands of the throne's heir, T'Challa. Villains, however, pull T'Challa out of Wakanda, and bring him into an epic adventure that spans the globe.

While waiting for "Black Panther" to be available in cinemas, here are some fun facts to excite you:

1. Unlike your typical royal army, the kingdom of Wakanda employs a cadre of female warriors to protect the throne. They are called the "Dora Milaje".

2. The formidable Dora Milaje were cast from a pool of actresses, stuntmen, and even Broadway dancers.

3. The movie features a couple of fight scenes, and most of these did not require stuntmen. Lead star Boseman and his co-actors had to attend a boot camp to enhance their fighting skills.

4. While they all look picturesque and real, the majority of Wakanda sets were simulated in sound stages at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta. Among these are the Tribal Council, the Hall of Kings, and the Warrior Falls.

5. The entire cliff wall of the Warrior Falls, which is 100 feet high, was made of 25,000 cubic feet of foam sculpted to match the rocks in Oribi Gorge in South Africa.

6. To make the Warrior Falls more realistic, the production team put together six large submersible pumps that feed over 125,000 gallons of water.

7. Some of the scenes were filmed in Busan, South Korea. Director Ryan Coogler, in his attempt to make action sequences seamless, even had an editor on set to cut footage in real time.

8. Ultimately, the official language of Wakanda was derived from a real South African language, Xhosa. Most of the costumes were also inspired by "royal" African attire.
