A total solar eclipse was visible across Arlington, Texas, for the first time since 1878 Monday (April 8).

The total solar eclipse, where the moon completely obscures the view of the sun, began at 1:38pm Central Standard Time in Arlington, Texas, and lasted for more than three minutes.

Slight cloud coverage didn't ruin the moment for many who came to the University of Texas at Arlington's campus for their 'Solar-bration' eclipse watch party.

Hundreds of people were gazing up at the sky at the total solar eclipse during UTA's event.
