The lady guard assigned at the second floor retail parking entrance of the Resorts World Manila recalled confronting the gunman who avoided the walk through metal detector past midnight of June 2.

Mary Grace Rayala of the NC Lanting Security Specialist Agency said she attempted to stop the gunman later identified as high roller Jessie Javier Carlos.

"Chinallenge ko po yung tao. Nakita ko po siya naka-bonnet pa. Nakita ko po siya may dalang baril, nakalabas na, hawak niya po," Rayala told congressmen investigating the attack that killed 37 people.

When they failed to stop the gunman, she ran and hid and made an emergency radio call to all units.

"Emergency all unit, emergency all unit. May nakapasok na lalaki, nakabonnet, may dalang mahabang baril papunta sa direksiyon ng casino," she recalled as saying.

One of those who acknowledged her call was their officer in charge who then ordered them to secure the area and the guests.

All security guards who were on duty at the time of the attack were ordered relieved by the Philippine National Police Supervisory Officer for Security and Investigation Agencies (PNP-SOSIA).
