Punuan na ang mga ward at maging ang intensive care unit ng St. Luke’s Medical Center sa dalawang ospital nito.

“As of yesterday afternoon, ang ward namin in Quezon City is 105 percent full and our intensive care unit is 121 percent full. In Global City, in our wards, it’s 129 percent full and our ICU is 135 percent full,” ayon kay Dr. Benjamin Campomanes, ang chief medical officer ng St. Luke’s Medical Center.

Sa panayam sa TeleRadyo Martes ng umaga, sinabi ni Campomanes na ang mga iba ay nasa emergency room na naghihintay. Naglagay na sila doon ng karagdagang mga kama.

“Puno 'yun. Ang average waiting time namin is between 3 to 5 days,” sabi niya.

Lunes nang mag-anunsiyo na sila na puno na ang kanilang dalawang ospital para sa mga COVID patients.

“Pero hindi naman namin matatanggihan ang ibang pasyente because we can’t do that. Kung kailangang i-hospital at walang malipatan—yung iba 5 to 6 ospital na ang pinuntahan—so paano mo naman tatanggihan yun,” sabi niya.

Nagdagdag na rin sila ng mga doktor sa ER para tumingin sa mga pasyenteng may COVID na naghihintay doon.

Bagamat may sapat pa silang dami ng mga healthcare worker, ang inaalala ni Campomanes sa ngayon ay ang kanilang pagod o burnout.

“Kasi araw-araw yan uuwi lang ng konti and then papasok na naman,” saad niya.
