Surveillance footage from a gas station yielded information about the 2 motorcycle-riding assailants who shot dead a businessman and his driver in broad daylight along EDSA over the weekend, police said Wednesday.

The CCTV clip shows the suspects arriving from North Luzon Expressway before the fatal shooting of businessman Jose Luis Yulo, 62, said Mandaluyong police chief Senior Supt. Moises Villaceran Jr.

"Mayroon kaming nakuhang kaunting information doon na makatulong din sa resolusyon ng kaso na ito," he told radio DZMM, but did not provide additional details.

Investigators, he said, were also enhancing another surveillance footage that could show the escape route and motorcycle details of the gunmen.

Yulo and his driver Allan Nomer Santos were on board a van on EDSA-Reliance when they were gunned down. Yulo's former partner, 38-year-old stock broker Esmeralda Ignacio, was wounded in the attack in front of VRP Medical Center.

The hospital's surveillance footage was not clear, said Villaceran.

Yulo, he earlier said, was facing 14 complaints for bouncing checks and also filed a complaint for grave threat.

A loaded .38 revolver recovered from the businessman's bag in the crime scene had no appropriate papers, he said.

Yulo's relatives will soon be invited for formal investigation, he added.

The slain businessman is only a namesake of Chamber of Commerce of the Philippine Islands President Jose Luis U. Yulo Jr, Metro Manila police chief Director Guillermo Eleazar earlier said.
