All Filipinos repatriated this weekend from the epicenter of a global coronavirus outbreak in China were healthy, the Department of Health said Monday, following a wave of panic in communities surrounding the group's quarantine area.

None of the 32 Filipinos from Wuhan city in central China developed symptoms of the novel coronavirus since their arrival at the Athletes' Village in Capas, Tarlac last Saturday, said DOH Spokesperson and Undersecretary Eric Domingo.

"Lahat po ng mga dumating ay malusog (everyone who arrived was healthy)," he told DZMM.

Health workers will be deployed to monitor and allay the fears of communities surrounding the Athletes' Village, he added.

Residents in Capas earlier held a rally while the town council planned a resolution against holding the quarantine in their area. They dropped these moves after a dialogue with health officials, said Mayor Rey Catacutan.

Domingo earlier said Health Secretary Francisco Duque III already reached out to local government officials and communicated that the repatriates "will not come in contact to the community.”

China confirmed up to 900 deaths due to the virus and some 40,000 cases. The Philippines confirmed 3 cases, including 1 death, all from Wuhan. Manila also banned all inbound travel from China, Macau and Hong Kong.
