Davao is fast becoming a boom town in the Southern Philippines. The bustling city has been transformed into the second seat of power by no other than President Rodrigo Duterte, its mayor for over 22 years.

The largest city in the Philippines has attracted over 2 million tourists in 2018. It also became the darling of potential investors in just a couple of years.

With high priority projects like the bus system modernization program aimed to ease traffic and improve transportation in the area, many jeepney drivers are also worried about their livelihood with its impending rollout.

Despite this, residents are still optimistic that Davao will soon become a globally competitive destination like Singapore in the near future.
