After retiring from showbiz because of prostate cancer, singer April Boy Regino faced another hurdle in his life.

In 2015, Regino was diagnosed with diabetes, which caused him to slowly lose his eyesight.

But with continued medication, he is slowly regaining his eyesight. He also opened a resto bar, which keeps him busy.

Regino admitted that he has lost hope, making him forget about music and singing.

"Wala na po akong ganang kumanta. Simula po nung nabulag ako eh, parang bang nawalan na ako ng pag-asa sa buhay ko, nawalan na ako ng ganang mabuhay, kaya hindi ko na inisip na kakanta pa uli ako," he said, adding that he opened his bar to keep him busy.
