MANILA - It would be wise to accumulate stocks of Resorts World Manila and the Philippine Stock Exchange as the two companies are expected to bounce back from current or possible hurdles, an analyst said Tuesday.

Jun Calaycay, head of research at A&A Securities, said Resorts World Manila, which is currently embroiled in controversy after a lone gunman's deadly attack earlier this month, "is a good company and it is going through a period of uncertainty."

"It has its license suspended, but we think this is temporary. At some point in time, it might be reinstated, and when that happens, the RWM will start to get back on its feet and we want to be in on this issue when that happens," he said, adding that "anything below P3 is good."

The PSE, meanwhile, is eyeing a merger with Philippine Dealing System Holdings, and while it could be blocked by regulators, Calaycay believes there are beneficial regulations that may come out of it other than fresh revenues.
