Blue hearts flooded Twitter timelines as congratulations poured in for the Ateneo de Manila University, which dethroned defending champion De La Salle University in the UAAP Season 80 finals.

Both the Blue Eagles and the Green Archers had fans at the edge of their seats, or in this case, at the edge of their keyboards.

Twitter did not miss a second of the gripping, high-energy game, with La Salle's tenacious efforts near the end, capped off by an Andrei Caracut triple, proving not enough to overturn a late 10-point deficit as it ended 88-86 in favor of Ateneo.

Twitter fans exploded in an array of emotions, with some jubilant while others heartbroken. Still, everyone commended the players for their hard work, with Issac Go and Thirdy Ravena getting special mentions.
