MANILA — Mapua University remained near the top of NCAA Season 100 after it staved off Jose Rizal University.

Escamis answered with a jumper to re-establish a nine-point lead, while John Jabonete restored a double-digit, 81-70 cushion at the 4:21 mark after his lay-in.

Shawn Argente drained a triple to get JRU within three possessions, 81-73, with still 3:36 left on the clock, but that happened to be their last push as Mangubat and Bancale went on to deliver the finishing touches for the Cardinals.
