Filipina golfer Bianca Pagdanganan shot an even par-72 to tie at 13th place with 12 other players after the opening round of the women's golf competition in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Pagdanganan birdied in the 12th, 15th and 18th holes to stay in the hunt for a medal in the event.

Home bet Celine Boutier is leading the 60-woman field with a 7-under 65, with Ashleigh Buhai of South Africa three strokes back. 

Another Filipina in Dottie Ardina shot a 76 to tie at 40th place.

Yuka Saso, who competed for the Philippines in the Tokyo Games in 2021 but is now representing Japan, is a shot back with a five-over 77. 

Pagdanganan bogeyed at the No. 4, 5 and 7 before gaining her composure in the back nine to stay within distance of the leaders.
