Many were expecting TNC Pro Team to deliver a significant improvement when top-dog analyst Caisam "Wolf" Nopueto became the Phoenix Army's chief tactician.

After all, he has been the league's go-to analyst since MPL Philippines Season 1, and has been one of the pillars of casting and analysis in Philippine esports -- so expectations skyrocketed.

Unfortunately, TNC fell short in its opening match against Smart Omega, before losing to FNATIC Onic Philippines.

Speaking last Friday, Wolf said he is shrugging off the expectations set by the community as he has eyes on one thing: to improve his wards.

"I know na parang 'yung expectations mataas din so two months ago tinanggal ko na 'yung pressure na 'yon. I don't care about anything else. Mapalakas ko na ang team namin, okay na yon," Wolf said.

TNC is currently last in the league standings behind a 0-2 record. Despite this, Wolf remains satisfied with what the team delivered.

"Iba talaga sa MPL eh, confident kami eh. Meron kaming preparations malalakas ang players na ito as a team. Pero when we look back sa game one, mistake lang ang nangyayari and it becomes exponential. So that's how we assess it," Wolf said.

TNC was full of young standouts and returnees as they kicked off MPL Season 13. Both Jomarie "Escalera" Delos Santos and Daniel "Sdzyz" Chu returned to the Phoenix Army, while acquiring Ken "Kzen" Pile and Lance Walter "LanceCy" Cunanan and Salvick "Kouzen" Guiyab Tolarba.

TNC Pro Team will face RSG Philippines and Team Liquid Philippines.
