MANILA — Carlo Bumina-ang is eager to avenge Team Lakay and its fighters' previous defeats against Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu.

"The Bull'" is set to face the No.5 ranked bantamweight MMA hitter at ONE Fight Night 24: Brooks vs. Balart inside Lumpinee Stadium, and he admits that facing Baatarkhuu has given him extra motivation.

"Of course, it gave me fire to train harder. I'm not only facing a top-five fighter, but it's a fighter we have history with. Now I'm even more motivated to train," said Bumina-ang, who was originally slated to face off against Asa Ten Pow for his main roster debut before the American pulled out.

Baatarkhuu was dubbed as "The Filipino Killer" after tallying three straight wins against Pinoys, with two of them being Bumina-ang's teammates ONE Warrior Series Philippines winner Adonis Sevilleno and the highly touted Jhanlo Sangiao.

This not only gives "The Bull" a chance to avenge his fallen peers, but also the opportunity to prove that he belongs among the elite in the division.

"They were telling me that his chin can be his weak point, though he's shown that he can take hits as well. They believe I hit harder between the two, so that's the advantage I think I have in this fight," he said.

"He's a very dynamic fighter but he favors the ground game more. I think between the two of us, I'm the better striker, so I'll look to finish him standing. I'm always prepared for war and I'll aim for his head. I'll try to finish him."

With four finishes in five fights, Bumina-ang has shown that he has the killer instinct to end fights quickly. And that's exactly what he expects in this contest.

"I think if there isn't a finish in the first round, this will end before the third. I'm hoping this will be a great fight between us two," said Bumina-ang.

"I know that once my fist connects with his face, I'm gonna finish it. Whether the fight stays standing, or it goes to the ground, I'm going for that finish."

Bumina-ang and Baatarkhuu's fight will be held on August 3 in Thailand.
