MANILA -- Jeremy "The Jaguar" Miado vows to show that he has learned from his previous losses when he takes on No. 4 ranked contender Hiroba Minowa in a must-win bout at ONE Fight Night 23 next month.

Miado battles Minowa in a three-round strawweight MMA bout on July 6, at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

There, he hopes to end a run of three consecutive losses, where he felt that he was too "gunshy" against his opponents while also dealing with issues outside of competition.

"Looking at my previous fight, I've learned to be more confident with my strikes. I shouldn't really think twice. I have to let my game flow. I have to tag him early so that he'll be the one thinking twice each time he shoots the moment he feels my power," said Miado.

"Back then, I was going through some personal stuff, but I wouldn't want to dwell on that. That isn't an excuse. Now I'm focused. I'm not gonna hold back. I'm gonna come in confident," he added.

However, Miado will once again enter the bout against Minowa as the underdog. The Japanese is the third wrestler that Miado has faced in his last four fights, and wrestlers have proven to be the Filipino striker's Achilles heel.

But "The Jaguar" insists that he has made the adjustments necessary and believes he can get the job done.

"Facing yet another wrestler is fine by me. I want to prove that my ground game is improving and I can hang with any wrestler," he said.

Having learned from his previous losses and having more time to prepare, Miado believes that in this fight he will end his losing streak and add another clip to his highlight reel.

"This fight won't reach the decision, and I plan to end [it] by the end of the first round. You know how I fight, I always fight to finish," said Miado. "I see it ending near the end of the first round or early in the second. I'll be more aggressive, I won't be sitting back and waiting."
