MANILA (UPDATE) — Justin Brownlee’s next destination has now been confirmed.

The Gilas Pilipinas star and Barangay Ginebra resident reinforcement is set to play for Pelita Jaya Basketball Club in the Indonesian Basketball League, the team announced today.

“You-know-who. Give a warm welcome to Justin Brownlee,” they penned in an Instagram Reel.

Brownlee, who recently normed 21 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, two steals, and a block for Gilas during the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers, can play as early as March 23 as the 7-1 Pelita Jaya takes on RANS Simba Bogor.

The long-time Ginebra import already previously admitted that he is bound for Indonesia, saying that he was set to travel last Sunday.

"Yeah, I will be playing abroad. I should be leaving on Sunday," said Brownlee last March 14 while attending a Premier Volleyball League game.

The three-time best import will be suiting up for a stacked Pelita Jaya squad as the team also features former NBA players Thomas Robinson (Sacramento Kings) and KJ McDaniels (Houston Rockets), who also played in the PBA, as well as Malachi Richardson (Kings) and JaQuori McLaughlin (Dallas Mavericks).

Ginebra head coach Tim Cone also previously vouched for Brownlee’s overseas stint, especially since this can help him stay himself as he awaits his next PBA and Ginebra campaign.

"We're happy for him. Gives him some extra income and helps him stay sharp and in shape," the two-time PBA Grand Slam coach said.

The earliest date that Brownlee can make his return to the country is during the Nationals’ preparation for the 2024 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in late June as they look to defy the odds and clinch a spot in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
