MANILA - G2 Blacklist will end Wild Rift League -Asia Season 2 in second place, falling short against China's KeepBest Gaming, 3-4, in the Grand Finals held online, Saturday night.

G2 Blacklist became the biggest threat to China's years-long hold in Wild Rift, giving the defending champions a hard time after KBG went almost spotless in their semifinal campaign.

It could've been a Cinderella run for G2 Blacklist, who went winless in the round robin stages before running riot in the playoff rounds.

G2 Blacklist first defeated South Korea's KT Rolster, before beating EDward Gaming in the semifinals.

G2 Blacklist will take home a cash prize of ¥500,000, or nearly P4 million.

After a dismal run in their first WRL season, G2 Blacklist acquired majority of the former Nigma Galaxy roster and dominated the second season of WRL in Asia-Pacific.

The same pool of players, under Nigma Galaxy, also won the SEA Games gold medal last year in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, defeating favorites Vietnam.
