While preparing for another Olympic qualification tournament, Filipina weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz is also training the next generation of athletes.

Diaz and her husband, Julius Naranjo, have set up the Hidilyn Diaz Weightlifting Academy in Jalajala, Rizal, where they work with some 25 to 30 young lifters from age six to 20, all eager to learn the sport.

Among those is Diaz's niece, Sam, who at eight years old is already showing passion for weightlifting.

Diaz will compete in a qualifying tournament in Phuket, Thailand on April 3, wherein she hopes to earn a ticket to the Paris Olympics. -- Report by Dyan Castillejo, ABS-CBN News
