MANILA -- Adamson University made history on Monday as the Lady Baby Falcons completed a perfect campaign in the UAAP Season 86 girls' volleyball tournament.

Adamson captured its first ever girls' volleyball title after sweeping National University Nazareth School, 25-18, 25-18, 28-26, at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.

The victory gave the Lady Baby Falcons a 14-game sweep of the tournament -- a breakthrough that came less than 24 hours after their boys' basketball team ended a 31-year title drought at the same San Juan venue.

"In every challenge and in every trial na dumating sa team na 'to, na may iba, hindi aakalain na ganun 'yung mangyayari sa team. Pero thankful kami na nag-grow 'yung bata," Adamson coach JP Yude said.

Adamson had to fend off NUNS' attempts to extend the season in the third set. Down two at 19-21, Celine Marsh and Kianne Olango sent the Lady Bullpups to the lead twice, but eventual Finals MVP Shaina Nitura leveled the set for the final instance at 26 with a huge off-the-block kill.

Her teammates finished off the job, with graduating setter Fel Sagasay putting Adamson at championship point with a 1-2 play before Abby Segui scored the title-clinching ace.

The Lady Baby Falcons had taken the first game of the series via sweep last Thursday, 25-23, 25-20, 28-26.
