Photo from PVL Media BureauMANILA, Philippines – Seasoned setter Deanna Wong will sit out PVL games for Choco Mucho and is expected to return in January next year.

Choco Mucho head coach Dante Alinsunurin and strength and conditioning coach Allan Jovero revealed the development Saturday, saying it was still due to her nagging knee injury.

"'Yun pa lang 'yung sinasabi sa 'min nung physician niya, therapist niya na January siya makakabalik," Alinsunurin said. "'Yung same pa rin, dating problema every time na may laro."

Alinsunurin also said Wong has been "managing" the injury to prevent it from recurring.

"Sa ngayon, medyo mina-manage niya nang maayos para 'pag makabalik, 'di na umulit," Alinsunurin said.

Wong, 26, has skipped the opening day match against Petro Gazz, where they absorbed a 20-25, 28-26, 21-25, 25-16 loss.

The team continues to deal with injuries, with Kat Tolentino intending to power through her auditory condition this conference.

But one good news for Choco Mucho fans was Des Cheng, who previously suffered an ACL tear, finally saw PVL action on Saturday.
