Kiefer Ravena celebrated his 31st birthday on Sunday in the most fitting manner.

The former Gilas Pilipinas guard was stellar on his special day as the Yokohama B-Corsairs defeated his former squad, the Shiga Lakes, 77-75, during their 2024-25 Japan B.League faceoff at the Yokohama International Pool.

Ravena had 13 points, three rebounds, two assists, and a steal when he faced Shiga, the team which he won the B.League Division 2 title with in the 2023-24 season with.

But this is not the noteworthy aspect of Ravena's game on Sunday.

The former Ateneo de Manila University also impressed while debuting his newest sneaker — a Player Exclusive (PE) of Jordan Brand's flagship sneaker, the Air Jordan XXXIX.

Ravena had been the first-ever Filipino athlete to be signed to Michael Jordan's signature line, and things have gotten even better for the Yokohama ace as he is now also the first to receive an exclusive iteration of a signature shoe from the Brand. 

The shoe pays homage to the country as the silhouette's upper, an embroidered textile, features a bright blue color, while the yellow and red details on the tongue, toe, heel, and in the midsole, provide an additional pop of color.

"The colorway of the shoe is clearly inspired by my roots," Ravena said in a statement.

"I've always been big on being proud about where I come from, a country that is very passionate and crazy about basketball. From my national team stints since 2008, to where I am now playing professionally in Japan, I wanted to wear a shoe that reminds us of a kid who came from humble beginnings and is now representing a nation on the world stage playing the game he loves," he added.

Unfortunately for his fans as well as sneakerheads, Ravena's PE is only for his sole use. 

Only time and Jordan Brand can tell whether Kiefer's PEs will ever be available for the public to purchase.

For now, they can only see it as the shoe is on display in Jordan Manila in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
