(UPDATED) Carlo Biado lost his World 9-Ball title after bowing to German rival Joshua Filler in the finals of the 2018 World 9-Ball Championship in Doha, Qatar.

After posting dominant victories over Lin Wu Kun of Chinese-Taipei and Shane van Boening of the US in the quarterfinals and the semis, respectively, Biado lost steam in the final match that took place at Al Arabi Sports Club.

Biado found himself trailing against Filler in the race-to-13 finals, 9-7, after 16 racks.

The La Union native, who won the 2017 crown, rallied to take the next four racks to cut the deficit, 11-10.

But that was his last hurrah.

Filler ran the next racks to topple the Filipino cue artist.

Biado drubbed Lin, 11-14, in the quarterfinal round before getting past Boening, 11-6, in the semis.

Filler, on the other hand, edged Alexandros Kazakis of Greece, 11-10, in the other semis pairing to set a title clash with Biado.
