MANILA, Philippines – De La Salle-College of St. Benilde (CSB) handed San Beda University its first defeat of the NCAA Season 94 women's volleyball tournament to move up to joint third on Monday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The Lady Blazers bucked a slow start, then stood strong in the closing stretch for a 17-25, 25-22, 25-19, 29-27 triumph.

Klarisa Abriam scored 19 points built on 18 kills to tow the Lady Blazers to a 4-1 win-loss record. They now have a share of third place along with idle San Sebastian College.

San Beda dropped to 5-1, just half-a-game behind CSB and San Sebastian.

Defending champion Arellano University (5-0) still sits at the top of the standings.

Maria Nieza Viray scored 13 points, while twin sister Maria Jeziela added 16 markers. Cesca Racraquin had 13 points as well.

Marites Pablo and Michelle Gamit had 12 points each.

In the juniors' division, CSB bashed San Beda, 25-21, 25-21, 25-19, to catch up on Arellano at joint second on 4-1 records.

CSB-La Salle Greenhills came back from two sets down to turn back San Beda, 22-25, 21-25, 25-18, 26-24, 20-18, and snare its second win against three losses.
