MANILA, Philippines—Magnolia playmaker Mark Barroca said he does not expect to be sanctioned after he was caught hitting Alaska's Chris Banchero with an apparent low blow in the fourth quarter of Game 4 of the 2018 PBA Governors' Cup finals on Wednesday night.

The Aces had a 78-66 lead with 2:40 left in Game 4 when Banchero crashed to the court. After Barroca nailed a triple on the other end, play was stopped and a video review showed that the Magnolia guard hit Banchero below the belt.

Alaska coach Alex Compton was quite upset with what happened, going so far as to call it "dirty basketball." Both Banchero and Barroca met with PBA commissioner Willie Marcial separately after the game.

Banchero did not grant interviews to media, but Barroca told reporters afterward that no fines were discussed during their brief meeting.

"No sanctions, no fine," he said.

However, they were warned by Marcial to refrain from overly physical play.

Without confirming that he indeed hit Banchero below the belt, Barroca said that the game was simply a heated affair.

Barroca even congratulated Banchero after the game, he said.

"(Sabi ko) nice game. Ganoon talaga.

"Mainit lang 'yung laban kanina," Barroca also said. "Nanalo sila ngayon, so bawi na lang kami next game."

Game 5 of the series is on Friday at the Araneta Coliseum.
